Default PS3 sound and video advice

Hi

I have just purchased a PS3 Slim from a friend, I have an Onkyo 806 Receiver and Hitachi Movie projector with Component Video and S Video input (No HDMI)> I need to find a way of Connecting this 2 equipment to my PS3. The most important aspect is to have lossless sound. I do not think my Onkyo could down convert HDMI video signal to component or S- Video out. Is there a possibility that I could connect my PS3 HDMI to my Onkyo for sound and at the same time get component video out through my PS3’s the Multi AV out,( Multi AV Component Converter) which would be directly connected to my Projector . Can anyone advice me on this

I could be mistaken, but I thought it was possible to set up the audio with HDMI selected, and to set up the video with component video selected.

you can go into the xmb on the ps3 and set the audio seperate from the video. you can set the audio via hdmi and get lossless then set the video to component. youll just need the ps3 component cable or a ps2 component cable (theyre the same connection).
