Default Any idea what this is worth?

Picked up a Grado Signature 8MZ cartridge this passed weekend and I'm going to put it up for sale (I can't afford the replacement stylus).

Any idea what a decent asking price would be?

That's a shame you're selling it, as that is really a pretty decent cartridge. I should know, I had one for many years!

John

Since they are out of production I have no idea how much you could get for it.

Kind of figured a cartridge with a 100.00 replacement stylus would be decent but I'm really in the dog house at the moment so a new stylus is not an option at the moment.

Hmm having a tough time here, do I sell it or hang on to it, kind of seems like one of those things you only come across once and there's none listed on EBay.

I have no knowledge on the costs of any of this kit, however when you go to list an item on eBay, there is a cool feature called "What is it worth?" that allows you to search for recent historical auction data for a specified item. I searched for "Grado Signature" and it told me that their have been 2 successful auctions on items with that name with an average selling price of $133.

Hope this helps.

Nice bit of digging there quirkmanly! I still have my 8MZ, which I replaced with another Grado (Reference Platinum), but I'm not going to sell it. I'd love to do a vintage setup one day and this cartridge would fit that bill quite nicely.

If you really need the cash CK, try selling it on eBay now that you have an idea of what it may fetch. Personally I would hang on to it and replace the stylus down the road when you have more funds.

sell it on audiogon, the type of person looking for that cartridge will be looking there, not ebay. If you look up "grado" on audiogon there are a lot of results.

Hrm still a tough choice. Thanks for that EBay quote Q, I would have never known you could look that up.

Think I might just wait a few weeks and let the air clear and order a stylus, especially after reading about it online.

If you have a link CK can you provide it? Would love to read up on this cartridge some more.
