Nice setup Brett!

I do have one recommendation however (ok, maybe 2). Those fronts look like they have way too much toe-in and I would also bring them out from the wall slightly. I honestly believe with the amount of toe-in you're employing that you are losing a tremendous amount of imaging, depth and overall presence.

Have you tried other speaker placement options? If not, I would suggest (however kindly) that you consider it.

John

thanks John i will definitely try to remove some of the toe in. i have not really experimented with it. I am actually moving to this setup from a corner setup and have never really experimented with the angle of the speakers, i will do though as i join the hunt for the best sound possible

I agree that you should play with the toe-in, move them away from the wall, and move the center to the front of your cabinet. Where it is now, you are probably loosing some imaging due to the hitting the cabinet top and bouncing upward. I saw this suggestion in another thread once before, and the response was that the center channel opened up and dialog was clearer and more apparent.

Other than that, great setup. looks great!

thanks Lou

I was actually thinking about getting a couple of small risers to angle the center speaker up a little to help with that. I have a couple of rugrats running around and do not want the speaker so close to the edge i think i have something lying around here that i can use

Thanks for the comments!

the speaker wire i have came from Monoprice, it is 16 gauge and the banana plugs also came from Monoprice. Both do their jobs perfectly well and the money you save from buying from Monoprice can go towards some new blus or your surge protector. I love my APC H15 and it regularly goes on sale for $99 at tigerdirect.com, just need to be ready to pounce when it becomes available!

hey brett, Just ran across your new thread.... I love the new look, like that you pulled it out of the corner and that you have some updated pics.

How have you been? I have seen you on here but its sorta hit and miss lately. Hope all is well with you.

Brett, did you know the CS10 can be turned upside down to be angled up? The center channel cabinet is designed specifically for this function. All you have to do and take the grill off, flip it over and put the grill back on. Then, the center channel will be angled up without the need of add'l risers.

By the way, the new set-up looks very nice. Great job!

You are welcome Brett. In the specs on NewEgg, it states that the cabinet is built to do this in scenarios like yours. Mine has been flipped as well and you can see it in my pics.

You've got a lot of toe-in on your fronts- have you tried it a bit more toed-out yet? Seems like the sweet spot would end up being 2 or 3 feet in front of the TV instead of the probably 8-10 seating distance that your setup has.

I like it... looks really good. You should leave some of the old pictures in your gallery so people can see how it has progressed through time. It's seems more awesome when people see how bad it was in the beginning (that's me speaking from my experience with my gallery, not me saying that your system was ever bad)

My room is 16x13 or 17x14, I forget exactly, but it opens up to a 9x7 dining room.... I can tell you that the 10" AA sub fills the room very well. I have the gain at less then 50%, and if I turn it up more, some bass heavy movies are overwhelming. If you have a 17x20 room, maybe you would need a 12" AA sub, I think most people could get away with the 10". Very tight, controlled bass. Accurate sounding, not muddy and boomy like the Sony I used to have, good with music and HT is fantastic. For the $150 I paid, it is better then a lot of subs I have heard... But for $299 the Energy ESW-V10 is on sale at www.wwstereo.com and that is an awesome sub, would put the AA to shame... very musical and excellent for HT.
