Default Colored static Samsung BD-P3600 to Vizio LCD

Just bought the Samsung BD-P3600 and an HDMI cable. When I attached it to my TV, I get this terrible colored static (whether I have a disc in the player or not, so it does not appear to by HCDP compliance issue). Yet, when using the AV connector, everything appears fine. I tried also to use the HDMI cable which currently runs from my DirecTV HD DVR to the TV, and got the same result even though the DVR works just fine. I also tried resetting the TV. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you tried running your HD DVR to the same HDMI port on the TV. If you did and it's fine then I'd say it's safe to say you can rule out the TV and you have a bad HDMI out on your player. Box it up and take it back.
