Default Rumor Mill (Digital Bits) - Spider-Man 3 & At World's End U.S. release dates

The people over at Digital Bits had a rumor that Spiderman 3 will come out on October 30th 2007 they also had a release date for Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End that is coming out on December 4th 2007. Universal meanwhile is coming out with Evan Almighty on November the 6th 2007. I am shaking in my boots. Sony did not have any release date for Spiderman 1&2 but I would think they would come out on the same date, for one of the biggest box sets in history (Blu Ray only for any newbies) . They should release each Spiderman seperatly also. With a Chistmas like this HD-DVD could very well be dead not far into next year. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm stoked for both spidey and pirates. But wouldn't it be kinda cool if they release one of them the same day that they HDDVD released evan almighty and just crushed it like a bug? I would laugh!

Why are you mentioning Evan Almighty? This was a total bomb for Universal. Their best bet would be to release this garbage movie on Blu-ray to at least recoup some of their loss. The real bright spot for Universal so far is Knocked Up.

very true. I had no desire to see even almighty and haven't heard anything good about it (especially being way over budget). but I've heard great stuff about knocked up... hopefully uni will sway soon.

Hopefully Ratatouille will be coming out this year too. I'm not trying to pick on Evan Almighty, but based on reviews and box office it looks to me like even Meet the Robinsons would effectively counterprogram it.

Considering the stunt the HD DVD PRG pulled getting Warner to release The Matrix on the day POTC was being released, perhaps Disney should thank them appropriately.

They should indeed. On the other hand, it's not very nice to beat somebody who's already lying on the floor...

I saw knocked-up yesterday and while it had some hilarious parts, it was pretty much a chick flick the majority of the film....

And Evan Almighty had very few funny parts. It wasn't very good at all. After seeing this and 40-year-old virgin, I 've come to the conclusion that Steve Carrell doesn't do so good when he is the star of the movie.

I'll go out on a limb and guess that since it was mentioned in such a small, colored font that Evan Almighty was thrown in for a goof.

"40-Year-Old Virgin" was actually pretty funny and I think most people agree. Also an entirely different scale of budget. Wouldn't put those 2 movies in the same category.

The final blow to HD DVD by Blu-ray will be just like the scene in Layer Cake where XXXX's side kick, beats the sxxt out of that guy in the dinner. That would be awesome... watching Blu-ray pour a hot carafe of coffee over the beaten HD DVD...
