Spider-Man 1 & 2 Re-Release? - Blu-ray Forum

I must admit I am a little disapointed in lack of special features on the Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 Blu-Rays.

But My question is since the movies I mentioned are only part of the Trilogy bundle and not stand alone movies like Spider-Man 3 is, do you think Columbia will re-release Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 as stand alones with special features some time in the future?

Chances are they might, but until there is an actual anouncement for them, I suggest you hold on to the standard editions, provided you have them. I've kept my standard and superbit editions.

They will sometime next year. It would not matter to me because I don't even watch the special features. I prefer a blu ray with a 4 or 5 PQ then special features.

I am just the same. I prefer a top notch transfer over special features any day.

Ditto .. Top PQ is a must for me over features .. I ditched my DVDs for this Blu Ray Trilogy Set.

You could almost be sure that sony will release spidey 1 and 2 later on by themselves, but if you don't care about extras the triology is the way to go.

It's probably going to be the same as the other sets I've seen.(Godfather, and Karate Kid.) Comes as a set first, then decide to put them out as individuals with no extras. Mostly beacause not everybody wants all the movies. Like the people who want the 1st 2 Spidey movies but not the 3rd. If you think about it just about all Sony BR movies are $29.99 anyways. So you would be paying the same amount as you would the box set. Might as well get the set and sell the 3rd to someone. You're making money in the process.

Its pretty much a guaranteed given that they will rerelease them. They LOVE to do that with the Spidey films. Just look at what they've done with the first 2 films. They save the extras so people can double dip later

Why do you guys act as if we only have a choice of a "top notch picture transfer" or special features?

Spider-Man 3 is one of the best looking Blu-Rays to date IMO and it has a bunch of great special features, so both can be and have been accomplished.

I'm not trying to "diss" Sony or anything so no need to try and defend the product as is.

I have already picked up the trilogy, watched all three of the movies and am willing to shell out more money the day they re-release them. Was just asking a simple question. Thanks to those that contributed input.

I agree. Stick the movie on one disc and the extras on another. Everyone's happy.

i am gettng another copy of spider-man 3, as the one included in the trilogy doesn't have a carton slip case
