How much do you play?

I just ran into a guy talking smack in Killzone 2 about how many "wins" he has in the game.

I checked out Killzone.com and found he has played an average of 6 hours a day (every day, ~40 per week, >1000 hours total) since launch, and I thought that was kind of strange to brag about. That and his main topic was that I should get a job

Anyone else put this much time into a single game, over SIX MONTHS?

The most recent was oblivion, I played over 200 hours in 3 months.

The most I've played in my life was probably Counter Strike back in college. I played for 12 hours straight sometimes. Ah good times...

I am sure some WOW players will chime in.

5-15 for me on average. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Some days if I have nothing else need to be done, then I'll sit and play for like 5 hours in one sitting.

Then probably won't play for the next two days (sometimes).


If I play it is usually for at least an hour, if I can't sit down and devote an hour to the game, then I just wait until I can.

Actually I don't get to play nearly as much as I would like too. I probably average about 5-7 hours a month if I am lucky lately. But even if I had all of the free time in the world I would never play nearly as much as this Killzone player you're talking about, that's just sad.

Lets be honest folks, between our posts here, or love for watching Blu's and maybe games. That does not leave much for a social life. I quit games to get some human interaction.

I play 10-15 hours a week. 1 day after MVC2 was out someone had 300+ wins, damn this guy must have nothing else to do.

I gave WoW a try a few years ago, when I was finishing up undergrad, and that game sucked me in. I had time off in between the end of undergrad, and the start of grad school, so I passed a few hours each day playing WoW, and after about two months, got kind of bored with it.

Skip ahead a few years, and I started playing it again (I don't pay for it, which is part of the appeal... I'd never pay $15 a month to play anything). After about a month of playing it again, I'm already kind of bored of it. I realized I was spending most of my time on there trying to figure out ways to make tons of gold, but never really thought about why I would even want to have a lot of gold. So now I lost interest in it. Although I am kind of fascinated by the Auction House, and how the economy works within the game, so I've experimented with trying to control prices within the economy by creating a monopoly for a particular item, or driving prices way down on certain items, just to see how other sellers would respond to what I was doing.

But in that span of time, since trying out WoW again, that's the only game I've played... I haven't turned my PS3 on in weeks.

Now that I'm older, I feel like if I'm just playing a game to pass time, I'll go find something else to do. And if I'm not feeling really entertained by a game, I'll turn it off.

I average around somewhere between 10-15 hours a week. It always is fluctuating now that I am back at college.

Since Madden came out I have been playing 15+ hours a week. This is the only video game I play.

im with ya 100%

though before madden 09 i was playing APF 2k8 heavily as madden 08 & 09 blew

once gran turismo comes out i will split with madden 75/25 towards madden 10

i have a wife, 2 kids & a career so i dont play more than 12-15 hours a week.....usually right when i get home from work i get a quick game in, then another game at night

before the wife & kids i was playing from 5pm est until i fell asleep, then on the weekends while nursing a hangover from the previous night of drinking.

It's sad, but I am just recently accepting that I probably play 2-3x's less than I used to.

Partly because having a career now takes away so much of my free time. And partly because there legitimately aren't as many good games as there used to be.
