Default Upgrades or not.

Anyone here still watching on their projection tubes? I have one, model Sony KP-46WT510 and currently hooked up to my PS3 bluray player with HDMI/DVI connector. Should i upgrade my TV to LCD or plasma? Thanks

I'd be caucious with an LCD. The black levels still aren't 100% correct on a lot of them. They give off a grayish/greenish look instead of a deep black.

That is kind of contradictive huh? Projection tubes...

I have a Hitachi LCD Projection TV, though it is only 1080i, I feel the PQ sometimes beats out that of certain 100% LCD and plasma TV's.

I love my LCD because of my setup and space. The blacks are not that great but on some high end models they are very good.

You should open your tv, give it a good cleaning, focus and convergence. Keep using the dvi or component input to get 1080i resolution.
Use your current tv for another 6 months to a year then look at what tv you may want. If you buy a 2007 model tv you are going to want to upgrade again in a year.
Trust me, don't buy now! Be patient or you will be sorry next year.

By the way, you could have your tv beating the pants off of the LCD,Plasma and dlp sets out right now if you tweak it properly. Problem is, like alot of us, it does not have HDMI connection so we just have to upgrade sooner or later.

I am very pleased with my new Panny Plasma TH-50PZ750U(1080P), and if you have access to EPP apparently you can have it to your door for 3-4 grand. Unfortunately I live in the Yukon Territory in Canada so I paid 5 grand
