Default Best DVD to BD upgrades?

I have a pretty good selection of DVD's which I consider some of the best movies to own for PQ and Audio. I have upgraded to Blu ray and was wondering who had a list of "must have's" for blu-ray upgrades. In other words, I own Kingdom Of Heaven on DVD...is it worth the money to but the same disc on blu? Even though I am impressed with BLU-ray, I can't imagine the PQ can be that much better compared to the DVD of this movie. As far as I'm concerned, KOH was reference material as far as DVD's go. Just don't wanna waste the money unless I'm going to be shocked at the difference.

If you prefer your reference material in 852x480 (or whatever it is), keep the DVD. If you'd rather have more than double the res, then get blu (1920×1080). Upscaled or not, DVD reference quality means nothing compared to blu.

Ghostbusters is a DVD I wouldn't use to wipe my ass but I think it's one of the best blu-rays I own.

In my opinion I think that the OP should have asked the reverse question. Since most Blu's are an upgrade, The question might be "Which DVD's are worth sticking with?"

Upgrade the original 300 DVD to Blu. I've had that DVD for 2 years and watched it over 15 times and I still feel no regret about buying the Complete Experience.

That's cool about 300....I was wondering about that one since the PQ was so good on DVD as well. Whats the difference between the experience version and the regular Blu?

The Complete Experience has 4 PiP tracks and BD-Live (nothing available yet). Obviously, PQ and AQ are much better, as well.

If you've seen great Blu-ray transfers, and recognize they're great..... then you're already aware of what Blu-ray is capable of, and the fact that you question whether or not Kingdom of Heaven "Can possibly look any better" is puzzling to me.

Kingdom of Heaven was what you referred to as "reference quality DVD"

Well.... compare it to your top 5 or so "reference" quality Blu-rays you own, and see where it stands.

I upgraded KoH and believe the PQ/SQ are a definite upgrade. But make sure to keep your Director's Cut DVD because of the plethora of bonus features aren't on the BR.

The Original Dawn Of The Dead transfer still blows my mind on how good it looks.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Transformers
Casino Royale

I particularly love any movie that includes a tropical scene. PotC, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Into the Blue; there's something about beach settings that simply exemplify the vivid detail of Blu-ray high definition.
