Default Fast forwarding a movie

The other night I sat down to watch the new Rambo, and I just started fast forwarding past the set up. I got to the pirate scene and started watching from there. Does anybody else fast forward 10-20 minutes through the set ups of action movies to get to the good parts of movies they've already seen?

It depends, If its a movie I have seen many, many, many times and i want to see just certain parts then yes. One thing I found to be very fun is the 1.5x fast foward on the PS3. I am very easily amused. If you have a part in a movie where they talk very fast and high pitched, Try watching the same part with the 1.5x engaged.

Never fast forwarded a film like that unless I wanted to show someone a certain scene.

A neighbour had a film night once and he started doing this to everyone's annoyance. Not only that, he kept rewinding all of his favourite bits so a film that should of lasted 90 minutes took nearly 150 minutes to watch.

I sometimes fast forward movies if I have saw it before and want get to the good parts but the main time I do it is because I work for a video store, I often force myself to watch films I wouldn't want to watch so if they aren't good or are boring. I tend to fast forward just so I can get the ending and at least that way, I'm able to talk about the movie if customers want to have discussion.

So, short answer, I do if the movie is bad or boring

The only time I've ever done this is for the intro/back story at the beginning of LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring....and only once.

I usually don't do this, I like watching everything in its entirety.

The only time that I do this is when I am watching the new edition of Star Wars and they get to the Jabba/Boba-Fett docking bay 94 scene.

Actually, I just hit the chapter skip button when it comes up.

Never would I do this. It defeats the purpose of watching a movie.

I did it once, a few years ago. My sister had to get dropped off at day care, but was promised she could watch 101 Dalmatians before going. So every time she turned away from the TV, I skipped ahead in the movie. She was too young to really notice, and she was off to daycare in less than 30 minutes, instead of the 80 or so that the movie would've been.

Not really. I fast forward only of say, I started to watch a movie, then had to turn it off. I'll fast forward what I saw and get to where I was.

However, I watched Ultraviolet on 1.5 speed cause it sucked. Also, I'll fastforward a scene if I believe it takes awy from the over all experience.

Depends on the movie, some movies {like Aliens} I would probably never do it as I practically have the damned thing memorized anyway, but with others like certain Sci-fi movies I fast-forward to the stuff that I want to see.

I am sure that a lot of you guys 'fast forward' through the Jar-Jar scenes of the Phantom Menace.

I don't really fastforward movies but I have put movies in and just selected certain scenes I wanted to watch. I have done this with Rambo and Gone in 60 seconds.

Agreed. Couldn't imagine watching a movie any other way. Other wise you are not even really watching it!

Nope. I feel like it takes me out of the movie if I fast forward and I am more likely to skip other parts. I'll even watch the opening credits to Superman because it gets me into the film.

I only skip on 3 movies:
1) V for Vendetta, the scene with the actress because I feel like I caught everything the first couple times.
2) Matrix, sometimes I do not want to sit through all the boring stuff (my opinion)
3) American Psycho, I put this on in the background a lot and skip the most violent stuff.
