Default Fast forwarding a movie

The other night I sat down to watch the new Rambo, and I just started fast forwarding past the set up. I got to the pirate scene and started watching from there. Does anybody else fast forward 10-20 minutes through the set ups of action movies to get to the good parts of movies they've already seen?

Agreed. Couldn't imagine watching a movie any other way. Other wise you are not even really watching it!

Nope. I feel like it takes me out of the movie if I fast forward and I am more likely to skip other parts. I'll even watch the opening credits to Superman because it gets me into the film.

I only skip on 3 movies:
1) V for Vendetta, the scene with the actress because I feel like I caught everything the first couple times.
2) Matrix, sometimes I do not want to sit through all the boring stuff (my opinion)
3) American Psycho, I put this on in the background a lot and skip the most violent stuff.

No I don't. If I have to fast forward the movie it's not worth watching.

It depends, If its a movie I have seen many, many, many times and i want to see just certain parts then yes. One thing I found to be very fun is the 1.5x fast foward on the PS3. I am very easily amused. If you have a part in a movie where they talk very fast and high pitched, Try watching the same part with the 1.5x engaged.

Never fast forwarded a film like that unless I wanted to show someone a certain scene.

A neighbour had a film night once and he started doing this to everyone's annoyance. Not only that, he kept rewinding all of his favourite bits so a film that should of lasted 90 minutes took nearly 150 minutes to watch.

I sometimes fast forward movies if I have saw it before and want get to the good parts but the main time I do it is because I work for a video store, I often force myself to watch films I wouldn't want to watch so if they aren't good or are boring. I tend to fast forward just so I can get the ending and at least that way, I'm able to talk about the movie if customers want to have discussion.

So, short answer, I do if the movie is bad or boring

The only time I've ever done this is for the intro/back story at the beginning of LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring....and only once.

I usually don't do this, I like watching everything in its entirety.

I sometimes hit the FF button once so a movie plays at 1.5x the speed. Not only does it take up less of my precious free time, but ALL music sounds better at 1.5 speed

Try it.

Cheers,

Doc

On the flipside, have you ever paused and pressed the advance button once to play it in slow motion. That makes any movie/show pretty hilarious...
