Question 'The Mask' Color Changes (And aspect-ratio.)

Is it me or did they just boost the green on the Mask's color a lot?

If it's completely like this on the BD, it's quite disappointing to me.
I mean, I love the grittier darker matte-green in the original.
While I wouldn't have mind a bit of a boost, this toxic neon-green isn't that great.
Now it just looks overly kiddie cartoonish rather, while the film just isn't that.

What do you think?

I think I'll just stick with my DVD for now while the quality of the BD isn't thát much better anyway.
Yet I doubt any next release would be much better and it's cleaned up quite nicely already:

Oh yeah, would anyone know the film's original aspect-ratio?
Because, on my old DVD, while not in 4:3, sometimes things are a bit far out of the shot.
Mostly in the top, at the sides too but not as bad.
Would the DVD be like some type of cropped version or is it just shot that way?
Maybe it's just occasional strange camera-work...
Looking at the screenshot-comparisons on that linked website though,
it does look like the BD shows just an edge more.
Unless each screenshot is made at a slightly different moment, which I doubt.

Edit:

Just noticed how ironically the colors are the other way around in the artworks:

I also like without the doggie quoting some review and the black background better.
But yeah, just if I'd had to pick an artwork, I care more about how the film itself looks of course.
