Default Cheap Sony or Samsung player with 2.0?

I want to sell my PS3 and get a normal Blu-ray player.

Curious as to why. The PS3 has so much going for it, except that the non-slim original model does not bitstream lossless audio tracks.

If you can find a now-discontinued Sony BDP-S350 or BDP-S550, you will have a player which many, including myself, have found to be practically flawless in operation (for me, completely flawless - I have the S350). The S350 does not internally decode DTS-HD Master Audio, but it will decode Dolby TrueHD. I simply bitstream all audio via HDMI to my Pioneer Elite SC-05 receiver for decoding.

There have been some who have found the S350 and S550 for less than $100 on clearance racks at Sears, but there may be online vendors who might have some in stock. The replacement players are the BDP-S360 and BDP-S560, respectively.

All the players I mentioned are Profile 2.0.

Good luck!

Try the search-function twice (once for Sony and 2.0, once for Samsung and 2.0), and don't forget to select your Region: https://www.blu-ray.com/products/search.php?p=1

Frys has a Sony 2.0 player for $159 until Tuesday.
Please stay away from Samsung.
