I currently have a 5.1 setup with the following:
Pioneer KRP 500m oppo bdp-83 AVR-1909 polk audio cs2 polk audio 60's polk audio 30's SB12-Plus sub I am looking to possibly expand my system to a 7.1 setup; however, due to the layout of the room, I'm not sure it is possible. But, I'll tackle that issue in a different forum. I would like to find 2 cheap speakers to go with the setup, and, hopefully not too large (the 30's are pretty big on my walls with the new home). Also, I'm sure the wife would flip a lid if I was even thinking of this, so I'm looking for cheaper...but, will probably ask for it as an xmas present. |

See this post for some really, really crappy pics of my current home theater...should give an idea of size for speakers.

Here are a couple of other speaker options to consider.
These are some smaller speakers that would be easier to find room for.And they also have built in key hole mounting brackets if you were to mount these to your wall. They are made by BIC America which produces a quality product. They have been in business since the early 70's and are known for providing a lot of performance for a lower price then other speakers sale for. And in these links the price listed is for the Pair of speakers. Not just for 1 speaker,so you can see how large the value is in these speakers. http://www.buy.com/prod/bic-america-.../90051560.html Or a slightly larger pair from the same series: http://www.buy.com/prod/bic-america-.../90051558.html Or if you have the room to wall mount these speakers or set them on a stand these Bipolar Speakers will give you the Best Surround Sound possible from any other type of speaker. These are priced for only 1 speaker instead of the pair. But they have dual voice coils. So you can connect the 6th and 7th channel hook ups yo just one of these speakers and get the same sound effect as if you had used 2 different speakers for your Rear Surrounds: http://www.buy.com/prod/bic-america-.../90051558.html And here is a link to a Thread that goes over all of the advantages and dis advantages of different speaker types used for surrounds: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=66471 |

![]() As you can see from the position of my loveseat, that was the only option for 7.1. They sound really good and crisp. Also, you'll notice I have very similar speakers to you, so it would be the same case for you. |

Thanks for the posts guys...I like the list of manufactures, makes it easier to find stuff. I think I would like bi-polar speakers as that seems to fit my room layout, what do you guys think?

Definitely a great choice, but they can get as big as the 30's in space/size. Is that going to be an issue, per your original post?

That might be an issue...although, I can always hang them from the celing, right? Attached is a pic of what the seating area looks like...I generally sit right in the corner area.

What about one bi polar speaker? would that give the same effect as 2 speakers?
