Question Onkyo Speakers VS Some old Cerwin vega Speakers

My father has some old Cerwin Vega speakers In a 5.1 setup here they are

Fronts=RE-30 Towers
Center=CTR Center
Surrounds=LS-8 Bookshelf Speakers
Vs
Some Onkyo Speakers
Here is a link to the speakers it's a 7.1 set of speakers with their specs
http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=...ss=Speaker&p=s

Which one should he go with keep the Cerwin Vegas or buy the onkyos for 380.00 $ shipped ???

These are for home theater use 80% of the time movies mainly

TY

same response to your other thread......

I've got the CV RE-30's, RE-16's, Center, and 15" sub all sitting in my basement....... I take the RE-30's to the Muni-Lot to tail-gate during browns games...... if it rains on them.... so be-it.....

They are highly inaccurate in sound reproduction, but if you want to blast old-metallica, then keep the CV's.......

I wouldn't recommend that Onkyo set either, but anything is better than those CV's. *besides... the footprint on those Re-30's is WAY bigger than any onkyo/polk/klipsch etc *

EDIT: have you looked around for used sets?
