I have two Sony LCD's... one in my basement is a Sony 40" KDL-40XBR4 and in the wife/my bedroom is a Sony 32" KDL-32XBR6.
I love both of them... eventually I will replace the front-room Sony 36" KV-36FV27. I am waiting for a Best Buy deal when you package a PS3 with a Sony LCD. So, why did I post this thread? I don't know... I just love 1080p high-def LCD's and I am happy with Sony. I know there might be better ones out there, so what do you suggest in 40-46" range. I am not a Sony *****, but I have never had a problem with Sony and like the picture... so I have stuck with them since getting married. |

I agree about the 4! I think they lost their way until the 8 and dropped the ball on the 9. The 10 seems like a step backwards. Maybe the 11 will be in the same league as the 4 and the 8!

Nice setup. You are really enjoying Sony TVs. You can't really go wrong with Sony. About the new TV, it is better if you could wait until Christmas sales to get a good deal.

Thanks all... cool replies...
I have a smaller Chicago home... so, I have a basement, first floor and second floor. The 40" is in the basement and that is as large as I could go because my couches are not far from the TV setup. The 32" is up in the bedroom and is perfect. I bought that a few months back when Best Buy also gave the PS3 with it. I sold the PS3 for $50 less than the actual price. So, selling the PS3 brought the total price down a ton... it was a perfect deal and saved me $100's on the TV because of the PS3 sale. The big tube TV is fine and works great... It just takes up so much space... would love to regain some frontroom space with a nice LCD. Plus I have $1000 trying to burn a hole in my pocket... I will wait for a nice sale! |

I have the 4. I think the 10 with the Edge Lit LED backlight will be a good step forward. The 8 was practice/prototype for the 10.

I don't know about that. The 8 has local dimming and the triluminos LEDs, while the 10 is edge lit with white LEDs. The technologies are far too different between the two.
