Questions about Shadow around DIY screen frame!!! - Blu-ray Forum

Guys,

I'm building a screen. I made a base frame and a top frame and sandwiched the laminate between. I used 1x4 Poplar.

I have shadow (about 1.5 - 2") around the screen created by the top frame (.75 thickness).
I don't have proper tools to bevel the boards.

Question: Does the shadow stay visible with an image projected to the screen (I don't have yet a PJ to test it out) or does the image get darker around the edges?

Question Is there any easy and cheap way to bevel boards (10 ft long)?

Any help will be appreciated.

I'd imagine, in a darkened room, with an image being projected on the screen, that you won't have a shadow problem.

At a strict minimum, to get beveled edges w/o losing a finger or two, you'd need a table saw to run your frame pieces through. It might be too late now though, depending on how you assembled the frame.
