Default Which software to keep track of collection?

I was wondering which software or tool you guys use to keep track of your Blu-ray (as well as DVD, HD-DVD, etc) collection?

For years I've used Collectorz.com Movie Collector but I'm thinking of switching to DVD Profiler, as it seems their internal database is more up to date for Blu-rays.

Or are there other softwares you can recommend?

Same for me. When I was using a PC I used DVD Profiler and liked it. Delicious looks a lot better, but it seems lacking in terms of info, and ways to view your collection (graphs, charts, whatever), but otherwise it's great. I like scanning barcodes with the camera.

hahahaha. When my collection gets larger, I'll use an app for cataloging. Right now my eyes will suffice.

What's out there for Linux?

You can try GCStar. Never used it, but I've heard of it, so that's something, right?

Side note:

I like when people say they use these programs so they can print off a list of their collection, to make sure they don't end up buying movies they already own.

I think if you are worried about re-buying duplicates, because you can't remember if you own a particular movie, you're probably buying movies you shouldn't be buying anyway.

Heheh, good one.

In my case, I have about 50 Blu's so that's still managable, but also +/- 400 DVD's, so I really need software to help me:
- I often travel & sometimes buy DVD/Blu's then, so it helps me keep track
- it's easy to search for a specific movie or series: I can search or organize by genre, title, running time, etc. Say I want to watch a movie but it's already late, I can set a maximum running time and genre and choose from there
- it helps me keep track of the audio tracks & subs included in each release
- it's fun to catalog

Anyway, I see a lot of people on the site use DVD Profiler and I've tried out the demo. Seems a bit better in layout than Movie Collector and audio codecs are rendered nicely, including TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, etc ... which is currently not the case in Movie Collector. Finally, I could find more of my movies with a quick search in their database than Movie Collecter.

... guess I'll have my work cut out transfering my collection

Offline flat file for ease of printing and transfering to insurance companies. It is a simple .txt document that is viewable from every major OS/text editor. In the case of a disaster, I might not be able to get online by the time an adjuster comes out and I want everything readily available this time around.

I include my DVDs, Blu-rays, books, and other expensive stuff.

I then also have a video record that is updated on a semi regular basis for secondary proof.

I use this site to show them off though!
