Hi all,
So am currently using my UK PS3 to play all my BD's which are of course all Region B or Region Free. I am however desperate for the ever growing catalogue from Criterion, and it's impending release of Soderbergh's "Che" has prompted me to search for a multi-region Blu Ray player. Does anyone know where in the UK can I purchase a player that will play Region A and Region B as well as DVD's from all regions? Cheers, Arivind Abraham |

Get the Oppo BD-83 for US$499 and an after-market hardware modification for around US$50 that is a 5 minute install with no soldering, as simple as an IDE cable inside a PC. Then you can play regions A/B/C and DVD 1-6.
You can also find hacked firmware for free that will do the job but they are a little behind the official firmwares. Also I understand from reading on a few forums that this site is reputable in the UK for this player: http://www.crtprojectors.co.uk/region_free_bpd-83.htm - £579.00 delivered. The Oppo has astounded everyone with is Blu-Ray and DVD upscaling quality equaling that of Pioneer players four times its price. Hope this helps. |

Or, if that is above your budget, you could do a search on this topic (multiple threads in here). To make it easier for you, you could start looking at this website's resellers page: http://www.bluraymods.com/index.php?...d=5&Itemid=112
and then go to the one in the UK here: http://www.mrmdvd.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22_98, where you can find the ready-to-go Panasonic BD60 for £199, for example. Cheers! Last edited by gekke henkie; 10-19-2009 at 07:25 PM. |
