Default XBR didn't work out...went Pioneer

I had bought an XBR9 a couple weeks ago and had serious flashlighting on it so I took it back and exchanged it for another and it had the same problem. Everyone told me it was normal (Sony and Best Buy) so I just returned it and went with what was the best TV on the market according to hours of research and confirmation from sites such as CNET, the Pioneer Elite. Didn't want to spend $4,500 just yet on a TV, but with Pioneer leaving the TV industry and nothing coming close to it, I figured "Why the hell not?". Plus my wife gave me the green light! I will post pics as soon as I get it hung up and all that!

Sweet & congrats!

I have a Panasonic 42" Plasma (720p/1080i) and I love it, but I would love a Pioneer Elite even more! I think you made a great decision!

I had the same experience with a Samsung 860 LCD. Horrible flashlighting and uneven backlighting. Returned it for a Panny plasma (which was less money).
