I see they took away the DVD discs this time for the first print run. I'm hoping they have an alternate lenticular cover like S2 did at BBY.

Also, I imagine The Flash will be coming out the same day, no?

Edit: Nevermind, I saw the thread for The Flash, and it's releasing on 9/22.

This season took a big step back from previous seasons. I'm still not a fan of them making him into a Batman clone. This was my criticism from the very beginning. I was able to forgive that in the first two seasons because the writing made up for it. But it was unforgivable this season when they took a Batman story and replaced Batman with Arrow. I want to see Green Arrow, not Batman. I don't know why some people defend that. The writing took a step back as well, making characters like Felicity annoying.

Yeah this was the weakest season.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this season, some of Arrow's best. I didn't care for the League of Assassins prominence as the season went on, and I thought
[Show spoiler]the "death" of Oliver
wasn't necessary as they were not going to kill him off. I did, however, enjoy the other side of that coin - we got to see the rest of the team take over, and that was fun. "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak" and seeing Laurel take over the Canary mantle were both fun as well. I didn't care much for the finale, I must admit. I did watch seasons 1 and 2 very quickly, so maybe I'll enjoy S3 more in a re-watch in a more confined space of time, without the midseason break and so forth. I hope it doesn't take long for the BD price to fall, as I will be in as soon as it hits a sweet spot.

While I don't think it was handled great it seemed necessary to set up what was coming later. Establishing these supernatural elements so when John Constantine appears on Arrow next season it doesn't seem out of place and that
[Show spoiler]the Lazarus Pit
exists so we have a way to bring back Sara as White Canary for Legends of Tomorrow later on and to introduce us to Tatsu as Katana so we know the character by next season and before the same character appears in the Suicide Squad movie next year.
[Show spoiler] Though I was hoping he'd be brought back by the Lazarus Pit and finally transition from the Arrow to Green Arrow when he did, I am glad we still got a Lazarus Pit and they do seem to be making that transition into something closer to the comics Ollie in the next season

I truly disliked this season, for every good thing there was 5 terrible things. One of my fav characters Felicity was ruined with bad dialogue and crying in every scene. The league story could have been good but they wasted it. In the later half it became harder to care or focus on the show anymore. The one thing I liked was Laurel's arc. Season 4 will be the deal-breaker for me, if the same problems crop up I will ditch this and just watch Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

The OCD in me wants this for my DC collection, but this season was soooo bad I would probably only watch like 4 episodes. I dunno maybe I'll wait for Best Buy to have it for $19 in a few months.

It's funny, I just listed my seasons 1 and 2 sets for sale the other day. As much as I enjoyed them I know I won't be revisiting them anytime soon (too much other stuff on the to-watch pile). Reading all these comments about season 3 makes me feel like I made the right choice.

I'm with you completely. I manged to watch all of Season 3, but it felt like each episode gradually got worse. Somehow they managed to make Felicity unlikable and all the flip flopping between Rä's & "Roz" drove me insane. I loved the first two seasons, and season 4 will be the deciding factor if this stays on my DVR going forward. If it isn't...I won't look back. Fingers crossed they were aware of the overall lackluster quality of season 3 and have already course corrected before the premiere of S4.

I do wish that Best Buy would have gotten lenticular covers for both this and season 1 of The Flash though because their Arrow S2 exclusive sure looked nice.

Season 3 is the "least strong" of the seasons.....but that doesn't mean it was terrible.

There were just some filler episodes, and a few creative missteps. I have confidence this series can recover from it with S4.

sigh.... I think something's up with warner... remember the hotly argued audio distortion on "Innerspace"... it happens on "Arrow Season 3" as well... not always, much more intermittently, but it does happen,..the most egregious being on the final episode of the season, chapter 2 as Ras asks Oliver what he was dreaming about.

again, I tested it on multiple system, each one shows the distortion, almost as if the highs are being clipped. it's always on dialog at the higher frequencies

play it through 2.0 or TV speakers and it vanishes, the minute 5.1 comes into play (even on the same speakers) the distortion kicks in.

I've back to back compared Arrow S3 to "The Flash" as well as "Gotham" and Arrow is the only one that displays it, and it's nearly IDENTICAL to the "Innerspace" issue... just more intermittent, although it sounds harsher

Does anyone know if this comes with the same 'catch up' type first episode that season 2 came with? It was pretty much an hour long revisit of season 1.

I was hoping it does to save me from trying to remember season 2 and/or watching the entire thing again.

How long are you guys thinking until we see price drops on this and S1 of The Flash? I am looking to get both but don't have urgent need so I may wait a little while. I am wondering if we'll see drops sooner considering they dropped the DVDs which must make the BDs a little less expensive to print and ship.
