A conservative and a faith-based film landed at nos. 4 and 10 at the domestic box office this weekend, with a solid showing for anime Dan Dan Dan: First Encounter and a nice limited opening for My Old Ass.

Am I Racist?, the first theatrical release from Jeremy Boreing and Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire, had a phenomenal opening weekend grossing $4.75 million on 1,517 screens for the no. 4 spot at the domestic box office and one of the top documentary bows of the past decade.

The anti-DEI film is distributed by SDG Releasing, which also handled Walsh’s previous doc What Is A Woman?.

Looks funny but to a degree it seems a bit like patting yourself on the back for successfully shooting fish in a barrel. The trailers and extended clips from his earlier WHAT IS A WOMAN? seemed to make all the points on that topic that were needed.

Main threads for movies, often have their topic name changed to a more standard Title (year) format of most movie threads.

I worded it the way I did to avoid the predictable 3rd response in the thread
from JM, but it was all for naught.


At any rate, the film was okay. Pretty slow for the first half but there were a handful of good chuckles in the second. The scene on reparations was particularly funny. Seemed like he couldn't sucker enough people to take part and padded it a lot.

Jahns actually reviewed this, so good on him. I caught a late showing tonight on my way home from work. Walsh is the king of deadpan delivery. Personally, I thought the best parts of the doc were when he interviewed regular, everyday people who disagreed with his character's anti-racism journey. (Normal people.)
