Default Playstation Store now on Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node...pf_rd_i=468642

Let's hope for some deals, Amazon had some good deals on XBL and PC Downloadable games before.

so if we buy them on there, do we get a voucher via email to download it on the PS Network?

That'd be SWEET!

The blu-ray.com site developers should def create a link to the Amazon Playstation store so that we can contribute to this site - like they do for blu-rays! (if we go on to make purchases..)

I suggested they add Amazon PS3 game links over 3 months ago in this thread:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=39424&page=3
and was ignored by the Site Manager himself. If you and others request it too, maybe the powers that be will make it happen

You will be able to get your PlayStation Network Online Game Code immediately after purchase. Enter your code through the PlayStation Store on the PlayStation 3 and start downloading your game. You can also gift your Online Game Code after purchase via e-mail.

This means that I can trade in my games to Amazon with their giftcards and put them towards my PSN purchases.

I really hope that this solves a lot of issues that people are having with how Sony is handling the PSN store.

Has to be an affiliate link with a vendor ID for Blu-ray.com.

Whats your opinion on this topic Max? Do you think that this could lead to competitive prices for PSN titles or are you not at liberty to say?

This is generally true, with some exceptions. If you follow the link, anything you purchase generally counts as commission-worthy for that browser session only (if you leave the site or close your browser and come back later, all bets are off).

However, the Amazon Associates T&C specifically excludes all digital content. So no partners get credit for mp3 downloads, game downloads, etc. I'm sure they treat PSN purchases as a "digital purchase."

Hell yes, that would be awesome! I'm all for having some PSN games show up in my GoldBox!

I think more competition is always good for the consumer. Hopefully SCE will introduce vouchers/cards for purchase in B&M stores and we will see more in the way of discounts.

SCEE should follow suit soon with regional Amazon stores in the UK and Germany.

Thanks for the heads up Max!

Definately sounds like its not the grim future a lot of people are trying to paint for the download-only PSP gaming market.

How long do you think sites like Zavvi will be able to sell £20 PSN vouchers for £16 (20% off)?

I've just redeemed my first with success, and a free replacement Blu-ray game case!

Until they run out of money.

There isn't a retailer price protection scheme in the UK on any PlayStation product anymore. Retailers are able to lose as much as they want on PS products.

Joystiq: Is Amazon.com an exclusive retail partner with Sony, or will we see this program expand to other retailers?

Eric Lempel: Amazon offers a lot of great benefits, but we're definitely open to exploring other retailers in the channel. There's nothing exclusive about this. If it makes sense, and works for both sides, yeah, we'd definitely be open to exploring this with other retail partners.
Quote:
Will there be pricing parity between the two storefronts, or is Amazon free to have its own sales?

Eric Lempel: Pricing will be separate. Amazon is on their own as a retailer, so they can set their own pricing.
Quote:
Why can't I find any minis on Amazon.com?

Eric Lempel: There's only SCEA-published content on Amazon.com right now. There's no other third-party content. But we are opening it up to our publishing partners, so we're going to be speaking with them over the next couple of days, if they're interested in getting involved. We're going to let them know how they can do that.

apparantly they don't update at the same time as the store.

They don't have anything from today's update.

Well if nothing else, even if the prices are the same, Amazon doesn't charge sales tax (or at least didn't for something I just ordered - I live in TX).
