Armageddon is like the best sort of movie to demonstrate blu. Its not that old and deserves a good makeover. The DTS laserdisc had a great soundtrack. Blu-ray would make it that much better, it would certainly give your surround sound system a good workout.

I'm surprised its not out, its a Touchstone movie.

There's not even a US anamorphic version of this film out. Not sure about the foreign versions.

Armageddon is the type of action movie that is made for Blu-Ray! Hopefully with a MPEG-4 AVC codec and great audio!

I just hope it would play on my Samsung 1200.

weird, i so thought of this when i was driving to work, at work and now, i was listening to the theme song of that movie when i woke up and i was told myself "i want this movie once it comes to blu-ray"

Last Summer, if I recall correctly, it was rumored for a Spring release. So hopefully it will be anounced in the next month or so.

There was a "coming soon" page on Amazon for this last year. I signed up for the notifier. I'd love it, even tho my brother mocks the movie. It is a true popcorn action flick.

I love this movie. Wife hates it....I will still get it when it comes out. That and I also liked it's counter-part Deep Impact.

He wasn't that bad in this movie. It seemed like he really went into it for this. Much like Surviving Christmas... wait, what? But seriously, I don't know why everyone is down on Ben Affleck. He's not as bad as other actors out there.

I will also get this movie as soon as it comes out. The song was my wife and mine's wedding song, so she loves this movie too. I e-mailed Disney/BVHE and they sent me a nice little e-mail that basically said same old BS ...While it is not currently scheduled for release on the Blu-Ray format, we are very interested in the Blu-Ray format and are looking into releasing all of our titles in a manner that would be most beneficial to our customers....blah,blah,blah... I just wish they would give us some idea of when they will be releasing some of their big titles even if it wasn't until 2009 then I would at least have something to look forward to.

Really? I figured the super fudgey special edition that came out after the DVD I own would have been. Shame.

This is a much needed BD release though. I would buy it.

Think this could be one of those reference quality type films on Blu, not for the plot, but for PQ and AQ!

Yeah, I agree. He does a good job in the films I've seen. He doesn't seem full of himself. I loved him in Mallrats, and the Mallrats commentary. Buttman... Hehheh.

The PAL region is anamorphic and pretty nice.
