I'd much rather have Deep Impact. Bruce Willis and Co. were too annoying in Armageddon for my taste. But that's just me.

While it is not in my top 10 for favorite movies, it is very entertaining and would look and sound great on Blu.

Absolutely. It was on that Disney list for March. Most of that list has proven so far to be true,so let's hope Armageddon is indeed on the way.

I liked Deep Impact more plot-wise. Armageddon does have that Aerosmith song though. And it has Steve Buscemi. I mean, who doesn't like that combination?

I thought BW was amazing! it was definitely one of the very few movies that made me tear up. the films score had a lot to do with it as well.

I'd get Armageddon in a heart beat considering it's never had an anamorphic release... And I think Harry Gregson-Williams' score would sound soooo good in uncompressed 5.1 sound. mmmm... electric violin. As for Deep Impact, well I am not missing much if I don't get that one. It could've been good, however it seemed to low budget and fakey... Yes, I realize I just said a movie about a bunch of oil drillers going to a rock and blowing it up is more realistic. But Deep Impact didn't have support from NASA or anyone, so it was like a bunch of fake organizations that made the movie less believable for me. Like movies with fake baseball/football teams. They bug me too. I suppose that's why I don't have a problem with product placement.

A definite pickup for me. I need to replace my non-anamorphic criterion edition.
