Ed Wood's TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE (1970) coming on 11/13/18

Ed Wood's long-lost TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE (1970) will be released as a combo Blu-ray/DVD pack by AGFA/SWV on November 13, 2018, according to a company spokesperson.

I've never seen the film (how many people have?), but the intriguing cast includes Duke Moore (from PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE and THE SINISTER URGE), softcore vet Monica Gayle (from SWITCHBLADE SISTERS and SANDRA THE MAKING OF A WOMAN), and of course Ed himself in drag.

An hour's worth of silent outtakes will be included as well. If nothing else, they demonstrate that Wood wasn't always a "one-take director."

A decade ago I doubted this would ever see the light of day in any format, now here it is on Blu-ray. Ordered!

I'm getting this. I own the SWV VHS of the Outtakes. Very excited to see this. Wild releases coming this fall, between Ghost of Sierra Del Cobre and this.

Wild releases are certainly coming, with THE HORROR OF PARTY BEACH, MISS LESLIE'S DOLLS, WHO KILLED TEDDY BEAR, THE GHOST OF SIERRA DE COBRE, and of course TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE.

Although the transfer is from a 16mm print, the image is quite good, with a minimum of "grindhouse" artifacts.

If you enjoy low budget "jet-set" films with a thin, comedic, detective plot, copious nudity/sex, some drug usage and a whisky guzzling lead that somehow feel wholesome; this might be a movie for you! An interesting and fun time capsule from an era when films could be super sleazy, yet still good-natured.
