Default AA HD-sub12. Been cutting out all week. Now it's kicked the bucket. What now,....

Well it was cutting in and out for the last week or so. I'd slap the amp and it would kick on then go out again. Now it's dead. Lasted a whole 3 months...?? Told u guys something was wrong from the start. Same thing that happened when I first got it

Sooooo I'm waiting for a callback from deep discount to get an RA or whatever I have to do. I'm gonna insist they send me both a new amp and sub, and see how it goes down from there. I'm looking to find a polk psw10 or 12 to order , best buy has em for $199 but I've seen them for $99 around the net but I don't have a computer anymore ( until tomorrow for windows 7 )

any good $100 subs out there ? IMO the Polk psw 10 walks on this aa 12 but hey , that's just me.

Frustration to the max right now

Anyone know if they charge you 2 way shipping? Beginning to think the $60 to ship it out and to pay to ship it back is almost a waste. God this thing is driving me nuts. Again

your aa must really be messed up ... cause the polk subs you mention are pretty weak... and certainly dont dig deep. even people on the polk forums where i started out will advice you not to purchase them...

but for $99 give it a try

I had it before I got the aa. Yea it was pretty weak in the low end I'll admit that. But over all was louder thanthe aa

I've had a history with his sub in a short time and I said I won't go off like I did in a previous thread until I get a new Sub and amp. But if they think I'm gonn keep paying to have this thing shipped back and forth til it's fixed they are heavily on crack. I will badmouth there "factory warranty" it sucks. And I'm not pleased with customer service either.

Put it back together. Guess what. It works. Again. This sub is stupid

well good luck man, I hope you have better luck than me

While this thing is getting fixed I'm going to buy a klipsch synergy sub 12 then return it in 29 days.

I've wanted to try that sub since I got my ht anyways. I know it's like $479 plus tax at best buy but Its only $350 shipped from vanns. So if I like it I'll use the aa behind the couch and the klipsch as my main.

Wasgonna do a build with a shiva but that's gonna be around 500 after everything and the box is huge. So I might wait

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having. Hope you can get it all worked out. I was leaning towards buying 2 AA HD-Sub 12's a while back. I don't know that they are a bad product, per se, but I've read about some issues people have had and I decided to stay away.

I also tried out the Klipsch 12. It wasn't bad, but for $350 I'd recommend you go with an Elemental Designs A2-300 ($350 shipped). Much better price to performance ratio than the Klipsch 12 IMHO. I've been very pleased with my A2-300. I just built a riser for it last night, and it's reached a whole 'nother level now.

Good luck with the AA.

haha thanks man. It's a never ending story

So did you have the synergy sub12? The downfiring one that was rated at 200 or 300 rms or so? Cuz all the reviews I read ppl say it's a beast for the price. ( $350 ) and I thought the bash amp that came with it was better than the one on the eD... ??

Most ppl said it was very loud and went very low and sounded good on movies games and music. So it s tempting.

Also when I read thru the eD thread I saw some ppl saying they expected alot more out of it. I dunno maybe it's just hate towards something bet buy sells again .. So how do they compare?

mj,

A couple weeks ago there was the Energy ESW-V10 sub on sales at www.wwstereo.com, it is a terrific sub and gets down to 21 hz, I wished at the time that I had the money for it. You may see if it is still on their website, and it they marked the price back up, then call and see if they will deal.... Also the Martin Logan Dynamo or the Energy S10.3 are really nice too. These are both 2 of my favorite subs I have heard to date.... I haven't heard any klipsch subs that I like, I don't know about the eD's. Otherwise look at Hsu, SVS or the Def Tech Supercubes. If you're gonna spend $300-$450 these would all be much better options.

Also, most companies will ask you only to pay shipping to them, so they know that it truly is an issue and that you don't just want a new sub. Stupid I know, but that is what they do.

thanks for the heads up. I'll check those out now.

See it's a hard call because if I get the mindset of oh it's only 100 more for this , but then someone says oh this one is much better for only a hundred more. So on and so on. Next thing ya know is tour up to $700 lol

and in that case I would have loved to do my shiva or tempest build.

Also sucks when you guys give me allthese ideas and I have to seach them all on my phone

thank god windows 7 s out tomorrow. I've been without a computer for way too long , now I have to decide on that too. Desktop or laptop. Ugh such a rough life huh lol.

Hey MJ..just do like I did and suck it up and buy a Dayton amp.

This sub now sounds like it's supposed to! I know we both got bad amps but if you think they are going to "give" you anything your kidding yourself. They were the rudest people I've ever dealt with...well almost. I could hardly get any sound out of it on test tones 30hz or below! And it distorted like crazy on heavy LFE content. I ended up taking the amp apart and found that it they had tried to repair it a few times(there were a lot of re-routed board traces) like they had already tried troubleshooting it.

This sub downright shakes now with the dayton amp! I was watching LOTR (all three) over the weekend and it was almost non-stop LFE. This sub was put thru it's paces and never looked back.

Default If is cheap is because is bad.

You should go with a SVS or eD subwoofer, but if you want the best customer support you should buy SVS, those subs never have problems. Top quality.
