Sure.

If the original producer/director/et al came back from the dead and said it was their true vision of the film.

Not to ruffle any feathers here, but shouldnt the bluray contain both? Its already a ridiculously priced gift set so it should contain everything imaginable.

Only if it comes with a black and white version as well. No way in hell I would buy a color version all by itself.

Meanwhile, anyone know why Amazon doesn't have the Casablanca Blu that was released earlier this week?

Absolutely not. It should never see the light of day again, it's a complete slap in the face to the original filmmakers and fans.

How is it a slap in the face? If you're a fan you dont have to watch it colorized. I think it would make more money if people were given that option. Not everyone wants to watch it in black and white. I would like to see it as originally filmed but I'm not one of those people who say it shouldn't exist because I don't like it that way.

It's funny you say that yet your signature indicates the opposite for a different title you obviously feel strongly about.

You know what I say to them? "Too bad."

It's a black and white film, and should not be shown in some bastardized Crayola version.
Ever.
Period.
End of discussion.

My sig tells how I feel. Im not saying they shouldnt sell the unrated version. It just says I wont be buying it. If someone doesnt like the colorized version of Casablanca, they dont have to buy it. I dont see what lobbying for it not to be sold is going to accomplish.

It ensures that this crap never sees the light of day again, and that other movies aren't released in colorized-only versions.

I think you mean "I'm not saying they shouldn't sell the RATED version." You are holding out for the unrated version, right?

P.S: I'm in the same boat. I bought the unrated version on DVD.
