Default The Hobbit 2011

So, Guillermo del Toro is going to direct The Hobbit and Peter Jackson is set to be the Executive Producer, or so says the all and powerful Wikipedia. Does this mean we can expect a more adult edge to it like Guillermo did with Hell Boy and Pan's Labyrynth? Or with Peter Jackson as Exec Producer, will it be more toned down, ala his LOTR films?

In any case, I sure hope it's better than Jackson's LOTR films because quite frankly, as awesome as the battles were, I couldn't stand the actor that played Frodo (his name always escapes me) and parts were just too boring for some reason.

I sure hope we get to see Toro do a jaw-dropping Smaug. And spiders (i wonder if Jackson will base them on the queen spider from ROTK).

From an interview he did 2 years ago Guillermo stated "The only thing I will be pushing for more in these films that the other three are full animatronics and animatronic creatures enhanced with CGI, as opposed to CGI creatures themselves. We really want to take the state-of-the-art animatronics and take a leap ten years into the future with the technology we will develop for the creatures in the movie. We have every intention to do for animatronics and special effects what the other films did for virtual reality."

Can't wait!
