Default Transformers 2 sound doesnt run in normal play but in forwardx1.5

The receiver that i have is the panasonic SC-PT956
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...00000000005702

i have my ps3 slim hooked up to it for bluray, the sound in transformers 2 works in the menus and the dolby sign shows up on the screen but when i play the movie the dolby sign is gone. only when i fast forward the movie 1.5x does the sound come on. i also noticed that the sound option for english is dts surround sound, the sound works fine with french spanish and english 4 which are all dobly setting by the way but not in english 1 dts. my receiver does have the dts converter and transformers 2 did work on my sony receiver and its not the bluray cause ive returned it twice. does any one know whats wrong and know how to fix the settings if its that?
(ive got an optical cable hooked up from the slim to the receiver)

It sounds like you have it hooked up fine. In your PS3 Audio Settings, did you set it up manually or automatic? Go into the audio settings, select optical as your main audio output, and then check both the Dolby Digital box and DTS box. It sounds like your PS3 has DTS turned off and is not decoding it.

Also, go into your Display Settings on the PS3 and scroll down to where it says BD Audio Output Format (Optical Digital). You might have it set on Linear PCM, but you want to have it set to Bitstream.

its set to bitstream for audio and dts is enabled. transformers 2 works on my sony receiver but not my panasonic one and ive played with my panasonics settings and set everything to bitstream. this is the most confusing and strange problem, the only time theres no sound is when its playing normal, its got sound in menus and everything else even fastforward. its doesnt make any sense.

Your receiver seems to be decoding Dolby just fine and has no problem with PCM. DTS is the only problem. If you were to set your PS3 to PCM, then you would only get stereo sound. I'm going to name off some obvious settings because there's no reason why you're not getting sound.

On the Panasonic:
In the HDMI Menu, make sure you have you have the HDMI audio out turned Off.
In the Audio Menu, change Dolby Digital and DTS to PCM. The Panasonic is doing the decoding so there shouldn't be any reason for it to bitstream audio elsewhere.
While in D-IN input, make sure the PCM Fix is Off.

Other than that, I'd say play with settings until you get sound.

There are a lot of people having problems with the PS3 slim bitstreaming lossless codecs. Here is another thread with more information.

Oops...even though he's not using HDMI it does seem the problem is only with the DTS lossless codecs in that thread and the Dobly lossless works fine. Perhaps it's a DTS bitstreaming issue with the core pack of the DTS codec in general. If that's the case it would effect both the lossy via optical as well as the lossless via HDMI. That is just speculation though.
