Angry I am done with Wal-Mart.

So since Wally World had G.I. Joe for the same price as my pre-order on Amazon, I decided I'd just cancel that order and stop there before work at 5 A.M. Makes sense right? They'll have plenty of copies and I'll be able to watch it when I get home, I thought. The Amazon order wasn't going to ship for a few days and I wanted something new to watch tonight. So I run in there and of course don't see any G.I. Joe DVD's or Blu-Ray's other than the cardboard case at the front of the store that had only the DVD's. One lone soul was stocking the DVD's in the Electronics section so I ask him where the G.I. Joe Blu-Ray's are, if he's put them out yet and he says "We only got two copies and I already sold those this morning."

Two copies? TWO! TWO! Two copies for this entire gargantuan behemoth of a store? That's all. I calmly told him that was bullshit, to which he agreed, and left the store, never to return again. There's nothing I can get there that I can't get somewhere else for the same price or cheaper and I'm sick and tired of the absolute piss poor treatment of their employees and customers.

At least the fellow stocking was nice.

Amazon gets another $20 from me and my wallet.

I am sorry to hear that man. Some stores do severely under-oder the Blus. That's for sure. I remember having problems with new releases at Best Buy back in the earlier days of DVD. I would have to go to multiple stores sometimes. Luckily I have two Walmarts about 2 miles apart, so I have options.

I wonder if they have more than the two though. They had like a billion copies of Transformers. He may just have not gotten to the box yet.

They were restocking the Transformers BD's at mine. I imagine they did later get in a box at some point today, but I'm not giving them anymore of my business.

How would they even ship just two copies to a store? I think it's more likely you encountered an incompetent employee.

There's no way they only received 2 copies... He probably didn't put them out yet and told you they sold out so he wouldn't have to go back and look for them... Piss poor service...

Mine had them, but as usual crushed the slipcovers with those plastic security boxes so I didn't buy one today...

The guy had every box open and said he had looked through them and only found two copies on BD. I saw all of the boxes and looked at them and sure enough, didn't spot any BD's, let alone the G.I. Joe one. Maybe a fluke, but eh, it's not the first time with Wal-Mart. Their selection has been terrible of late anyway. Save taxes and buy on Amazon - that's the ticket.

The guy was misinformed of their entire stock. I saw dozens of copies at one Walmart alone. It is doubtful they only had two copies on the premises.

They always have more in the back, Those shippers usually have a limited number. I bet if you go there now, they have ample copies. Its the 5am thing that hurt you

Probably. But they should have had more than two out to begin with. I'm just done with wasting my gas and extra money on taxes and the general incompetence of the store.

I too have a hard time believing just 2 copies. My Walmart has that big sign for GI Joe that greets you as you walk in the door. The blu-ray department in the store isn't very huge, however.

Was there another display near the front of the store? Some titles have huge displays near the checkout line.

Call the Store Manager. Seriously.

If there is one thing that stands out in the Walmart culture, it is that ol Sam's company wants to sell to you, no matter who you are or what you want to buy. If you're willing to bring them your dollars, they will do what it takes to make sure you want to leave them there.

If the Store Manager doesn't say what you want to hear about having your particular product on the shelves and ready to purchase, then go to the District Manager.

Walmart has been a Blu collectors best friend every week since TF2 came out. I want to see our community support that behavior and continue to pick up the big title each week somewhere at $19.99 on our Tuesday lunch breaks. Amazon and Best Buy have been better on new release prices since Walmart started cutting their prices.

Its BS that your copy wasn't there waiting for you to pay for it. Let them know that you are a Blu buyer and you want to buy each week from the store that's saving you money and lets all continue to ride this wave.

It's typical Wal-Mart policy really. But it's not cheaper once I drive the 12 miles there and back, and spend the extra on taxes. I can wait an extra few days and have it arrive at my door from Amazon.

I truly wish there was a Best Buy within the same distance from me. Everytime I go there, the people are nice and helpful, and they're stores are clean and in order. My Wal-Mart is just a crapshoot.
