Sony Pictures The Da Vinci Code (2006) (Extended Cut)

April 28th, anyone else getting this?
I got my copy today and I can't wait to watch it.
Plus it comes with a 5 minute exclusive sneak peek to "Deamons & Angels" and a $10 E-Movie Cash

Can't wait. Wish it had the theatrical version as well.

But... I hear that the extended cut is vastly superior to the theatrical.

Nice. I guess Target is where I'm gonna get it. Unless Best Buy has swag.

Well I did not watch it yet, but the theatrical version runs 149 minutes, where as the extended cut has a length time of 174 minutes.

Only disappointment is that Sony did not cary over a Spanish language track nor subtitles, from the DVD release. This is always a plus for me - for certain members of my family.

I am going to purchase The Da Vinci Code, but not right away. I will wait for a deal before buying it.

Seriously? I would not mind if Tom Hanks was in every movie, even if just in the background. Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme.

Yeah, I'll wait for a deal as I own this on DVD but I am looking forward to it and I would like E-movie cash as I will see Angels and Demons in theaters (is it a sequel in chronological order because I thought the book was before Davinci Code?).

Watch the movie in two sittings (100 minutes in day 1 and 74 minutes in day 2).

This is a prequel. Dan Brown wrote Angels and Demons before Da Vinci Code (time line is also in the same order).

im getting it. i can imagine though if u havent read the book, the movie is hard to follow, and maybe too slow. i like most of tom hanks films, and thought the book was great.

Did you read the book? My mom did and she felt that it would be hard to follow for non-readers (of that book) but I followed it perfectly well. However, I feel the same way about when I show movies to people; I sometimes feel the need to ask "Did you get that?"

Actually, they changed it for the movies. Angels & Demons takes place after DaVinci Code.

i'm on the fence, i'll probably get it b/c of the extended version b/c i did read the book and felt the movie could've been better had they not taken certain things out.

i can't wait for angels & demons, i started reading it again yesterday on my lunch, hopefully will get it done before the movie comes out.

From what I understand, Beast is correct here....I'm not sure how I feel about the change, as I'm a traditionalist. However, putting one before the other doesn't change the story at all, as far as I can remember from the books.

Never seen the extended cut but looking forward to it, having read the book and saw the theatrical version they did leave alot out and I am hoping that the extended cut do the book justice.

Dan Brown new book should be out in September...The Lost Symbol.
