Default DirecTv DVR reciever setup.

So I got ahold of an extra directv HD dvr receiver and I already have one going into my office/media room and would like to put a second in my living room where I just have a standard receiver.

Does anyone know any special setup ideas/ techniques I should use. I know the dvr's take two wires in the splitter they used for my house has more than outlets available so is there anything I should know going into this like if I should inform directv or anything else?

You'll have to call them to active service on the DVR and deactivate the receiver.

If you can, run a CAT5 cable as well. Not sure what the status is, but they were working on multi-room viewing.

(I switched to FIOS a few months ago and have not kept up with the testing).
