Default Any news on new 1080p Directv HD DVR?

Anyone have any info on when/if Directv will be releasing a 1080p capable HD DVR? Also, does anyone know of a HD DVR that has 2 HDMI outputs? I have the HR20 and it only has 1.

I thought their 1080p content would only be on ppv? If so, wouldn't that make the dvr part of it redundant?

I honestly don't think that D* will make a 1080P DVR anytime soon. From what I remember, the press release stated that they would soon offer PPV movies in the 1080P format. Not sure if you could copy these to the DVR in the first place??? Also, why would D* come out with a 1080P DVR if none of their broadcast channels are going to be in that format (too much bandwidth).

Lastly, I am unaware of an HD DVR with 2 HDMI ports. In you have not already, check out dbstalk.com. There are a lot of knowledgable people on that site when it comes to D*.

1080p is no good if the picture still looks like this:

Have they done anything to increase their bandwidth? The last time I watched something in 1080i or 720p on DirectTV the macroblocking was unbearable.

Direct TV from my experience doesn't even have the best HD transmission to begin with.

My Comcast HD is better than Direct TV and Comcast isn't anything to write home about.

Fact

The only HD broadcast content that could possibly rival DTV is Verizon Fios and since they do not service my area, I have the best in DTV HD.

Plus, as an NFL fan, DTV is the only option you have in the states to access the NFL Sunday Ticket.

That puts DTV over the top.
