Default New walmart price matching policy

I dont know how far this policy goes, but my wife is a cashier in wisconsin and they had a team meeting for the new policy. It says the customer no longer has to have a copy of the ad with them. They merely have to tell the cashier about the price and the cashier can go check or just give the price override. The CSM podium has all the sunday fliers on hand. So if the cashier doesnt feel like going to check, they have to give you the price match. I know they dont match walmart.com, but if you get a lazy clerk, your in luck.

Good to hear, but unfortunately, no way to know if this is company wide police yet. Without something to back up your claims, in writing, (meaning the person who goes to the store to get something PM), you are at the mercy of that cashier. I still find it odd that they will match EVERYONE elses price but their own websites or another WM store. That just makes no sense to me...

Physical stores will almost never price match their own websites since physical stores have things like overhead and demographic studies that tell them what people will pay for merchandise.

I should have clarified...I meant with thier own websites, in which you can pick up the item at the actual store. Since WM does have site to store, the transportation cost would be more for that single item versus the stores cost based on the per item cost of having a case sent to them (opposed to just one) from their own distribution center using company transportation. Almost all of my items I have picked up using site to store from WM have been sent either FedEx or UPS ground (at least the shipping labels on the bubble mailers/boxes are from FedEx or UPS). It would seem that even with the stores overhead, the cost would be the same regardless, based on the additional shipping cost paid to a third party by WM.com.

I know Best Buy matches their online price, but you figure walmart would do it too since they offer free shipping to their store. I mean, whats the difference if you pick it up or order it?
