Is there a difference between the Asian release and the USA release, meaning scene cut or different bonus features?

Did anyone like this movie? Sorry to thread crap, but I watched this last week and was very disappointed. The lead really brought nothing to the part, the CG was laughable, and the script seemed incomplete. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on this.

I like it and so did :

"Roger Ebert rated the film three out of four stars, stating that it was "surprisingly entertaining" and a "CGI fantasy". He found the plot to be "inconsequential" to the action sequences. While he felt that Gianna was "never really convincing as a martial artist", he praised her for her "sympathetic performance" which he felt held the film together. As a whole, he found the movie to be "sincere as an entertainment" that "looks good" and is "atmospheric", and notes that he will be watching for Gianna in future films"

Disappointed with the movie as well but still bought the Bluray since you can tell filmmakers were trying to do the best they can under a very limited budget.

It was between this and Transformers 2 that I was choosing which BD to buy and in the end, I found Blood more entertaining.

Considering she was spectacular in My Sassy Girl and Windstruck, I will be definitely picking this up. I just like her in general

Actors change their name all the time both Asian or western actors.

Very true. But no one in the US would remember Jun Ji-hyun. It's too hard for many of us lol.

That could be true, then again they would have a hard time with a true French name like Jean Claude Bertrand Tremblay

+1 to this. I have watched both these movies plus a few others like Il Mare (aka Lake House in a Hollywood remake), Daisy & White Valentine. Most of which I thoroughly enjoy.

I sure hope they release My Sassy Girl in the future on blu.

Just watched this on Blu & it really does have some of the worst CGI i've ever seen. Didn't enjoy it at all the Anime is far superior.

HK release has a 7.1 PCM and 7.1 DTS-HD MA track while the US release has a 5.1 DTS-HD MA track. The US has a few more extras. I assume they are the same otherwise as Edko has done a great job with all their releases so far as has Sony.

Oh yes!!! I have a DVD of that movie, region free from Yes Asia but I would buy it again on BD, very good movie.

I've also been ordered by my wife to Get Windstruck on DVD. Since I have no wish of sleeping on the couch for the rest of my life I will do it

On topic, I got my copy of the movie of Blood yesterday, will probably watch it tonight

Very aggressive DTS HDMA audio track on this release (NA). Movie was so so but the AQ was a winner and absolutely top notch!

Having enjoyed the original Anime and seen the trailers I got this as a blind buy. I was really hoping to enjoy it and I can tell the studio really put forth a good effort, however I feel that the studio that they used for the CGI effects did the movie a serious injustice. The flaws were so great that they reminded me of another movie that was (to me) seriously hurt by this - Enki Bilal's the IMMORTAL. A real shame....
