Default Sony STR DH-800

I'm thinking of getting this receiver to replace my 5.1 Pioneer i've had for 5 years. Anybody's got good word on this? it's $262 on amazon.

Thumbs up Sony receiver

I don't own one, but it looks fine to me. It has plenty of power and decodes the lossless audio codecs. I think you'll be happy with it.

I have the older model receiver (STR-DG820) and really like it. It works well and produces a nice clean sound. I'm sure a higher end reciever will probably produce an even cleaner sound and have added features the Sony doesn't, but at the price I think it's a good buy.

Some people say to avoid all sony entry level recievers but I find that the Sony's are really pretty nice for the money.

The Sony DN1000 is only $279 on Amazon. I picked one up myself.
