Sony STR-DA4300ES or STR-DG2100?

Which would you chose? They seem similar, and are only $100 difference.

The STR-DS4300ES has a five year parts and labor waranty, Ofcourse I have had a couple of ES components and never had to use the waranty. Thats why I get them at my location because getting waranty work is hard to comeby.

If its only between those two, id go for the ES, but the price is kinda scary for me! I'm thinking of going with the onkyo tx-sr705.

I had been eyeing the Onkyo 705, but wanted to wait until more 1.3a receivers hot the market. I like the 5300ES, but the $1700 pricetag is scary. I have a STR 900 series now that I bought over 9 years ago, and it still works great with optical, but I want to update to HDMI.

Receivers are very stable components and last for many, many years. Make sure that the receiver you buy now has all the inputs/outputs you need if not more for future expansion. Also, make sure it has the latest audio formats available.

On that note, I would spend the extra and go for the ES receiver if you are down to these two. The five year warranty is awesome and you won't notice the difference in price as time goes by.

i would go with the 4300es for a. the warranty and b. seperate audio and video boards.... personally im going with the 5300es cant beat the 6 hdmi inputs lol (i dont even know a house that would actually use all 6 inputs)
