Default Litte Issues.. Except for Philips??

So I purchased the Sony BDP-S300 today... and found it doesn't have something I want.. and it seems everyone is lacking SOMEPLACE.. for example....

SONY BDP-300S - Does NOT SUPPORT BD-E and BD-RE.. So Discs I make on my computer will not work. Doesntr support DVD-VR either.

SAMSUNG BD-P1200 - Does NOT Support DVD+R and +RW which make up a big portion of my library from the past.

LG HD-DVD/BLU RAY Player - Does NOT jave an SVIDEO Out which I need.

The ONLY one that has everything above it appears is PHILIPS BD9000.

I have had a Philips DVD player, first egeneration, when they cost a grad a long time back and always was happy with Philips...

Can anyone tell me if there is any caveat to the BD9000.. something wrong someplace.. or if you enjoy it? If it seems favorable .. back goes the Sony and a few hundred more $ comes out and the philips.

I believe the PS3 solves all of your problems.

It's a full-featured blu-ray player, an excellent SACD player, an upsampling CD player, a web browser, a fast photo slideshower, a DLNA-certified media center AND a game thing.

Too bad you don't think that's a good value for money for US$499.

I have a PS3 as my Blu Ray player and I don't play video games. It is a awesome player. I was thinking about buying the Samsung 1200 but the PS3 is just better. I tested the Samsung and the PS3 is just with everything the winner. I would buy a PS3 as my Blu Ray player if I where you.

I play once in awhile....very infrequently....but it is THE best blu-ray player out right now. Now if you want to wait until this fall for that new Denon player and pay 2,000 dollars....that might be a better player, but it still won't have the additional capabilities as the PS3. This player will be the best for quite a few years.
I would recommend expanding your horizons, and simply consider the PS3 as a player...and not a "game thing".
