'Angels & Demons / The Da Vinci Code' UK Not Extended? - Blu-ray Forum

So, as this release: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Angel...-Blu-ray/6229/
shows a shorter time than this release: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Angel...-Blu-ray/7615/

I guess the UK-version doesn't come with the extended version of 'The Da Vinci Code'?
Or what's in this package?...

It's kind of weird too, they're basically the same idea, a combo-pack of the two,
yet they have different versions in different countries apart from the location and language.
Just doesn't make sense to me.

But yeah, does it make a big difference anyway? For the film and content etc.

I saw the boxset in HMV a couple days ago and the spine of 'The DaVinci Code' stated that it was the extended version.

You mean of the one that is in the pack with both films?

Didn't they have to make changes in DaVinci Code for the British censors? I believe they found some of music too intense.

The one in the double packs is listed as extended. Both films in the pack show extended on the covers (got them earlier in the week)

Yeah. There was no "Extended Edition" on the spine of 'Angels & Demons' though. See the post above mine about that though.

UK Da Vinci Code Blu is the extended cut only, with no BBFC cuts.

UK Angels & Demons Blu has both the US theatrical cut and the extended cut, with no BBFC cuts to either cut.

The UK Da Vinci Code/Angels & Demons double film set on Blu is missing the second (extras) disc from the standalone UK Da Vinci Code Blu release as far as I'm aware. Da Vinci Code movie disc in double film set is the exact same disc as disc one of the standalone release as far as I'm aware.

Alriiight, that's a lot clearer, thanks guys.

Man, Blu-ray.com is a great website, but they should really update some of the details on the releases.
Cause first it's not that handy if you don't know these kinds of things, if it's not clear.
On top of that, I kind of feel bad just having to ask a detail like this specifically. :P

So anyway, the pack contains the extended cuts, 'Angels & Demons' both,
but minus the extras-disc from 'The Da Vinci Code' then.

If that's it, I think I can live with that.

- Writing Angels & Demons (10:09)
- Characters in Search of the True Story (17:10)
- Handling Props (11:35)
- This Is an Ambigram (4:46)

The UK release of The Da Vinci Code has Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Angels & Demons DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.
