Red dots on tv appearing randomly

Hi,

I just bought an Aquos 46inch LCD about a month ago. The last week or so I have noticed red dots appearing sporadically while watching tv.

These look like sniper/laser pointer red dots as opposed to a tiny lil pixel.

I have only noticed this on CBC HD (in Canada) and it occurred on live/recorded programs.

The dots appear in different spots on the tv as well.

Is this a broadcast issue or a problem with me tv? I am still able to exchange this tv for another, but am not sure if that's the issue.

Probably the station. I have the exact same problem here but it only happens on ABC.

Yea I'm starting to think it's the station but want to make sure since I'm right at the buffer to take this tv back.

So on ABC does it look like someone is about to sniper them?? The dots are not that small, quite noticeable but only last for a second or two.

Yep, exactly like that. Even my wife jokes now when were watching ABC and they show up on someones face that they are about to get sniped, lol. It's starting to piss me off that ABC has this and I'm thinking of calling to complain to them. I think it's the local ABC affiliate that is causing it since other ABC viewers in other states and places don't have the problem.

I have had a problem with the Fox feed for years. Audio synch issues and pcture drop out. I've hav multiple cable companies as well as Dish network and it always happens to Fox. I don't think they will ever get it fixed. Sorry about you snipe problem.

I had the same problem with a few stations last year, drove me nuts. I changed from cable to Directv and have never seen the problem again. I would bet it is the station broadcast and not your TV. How do other stations look and DVD's?

After over an hour (yes over an hour) on hold with my cable company, I was FINALLY able to get some sort of confirmation from them that it IS the feed coming in.

So not my tv. Phew

Did they say anything you could try to do about it? They should be telling the local affiliate that is causing the problem so they can try and fix it if they don't know.

ahahahaha good luck with getting them to do much of anything. This is the same company that has had major HD audio drops for over 3yrs now. Shaw cable is a brutal monopoly here where customer service is in the same land of the unicorns and leprachauns!

At least its only on that one station...for now. Plus maybe I can make it like an adventure each time I watch that channel..when I see a sniper dot I can hit the deck and crawl to my PS3 to put in a game or something!
