Default White Dots on my screen when using ps3!!

Only when I'm using my ps3, I get these little white dots all over the screen. It gets worse for a sec then better, but never fully goes away. Happens on blu-ray's, Games, and regular DVD's, although originally it just happened with DVD's.

I have a onkyo 606, 46" sammy Led, PS3......I confirmed last night its NOT the HDMI cable so it's something with the PS3 (A setting I believe).

Anyone else have this issue and a resolution?

I was thinking dead pixels, but that wouldn't be the case if you only see the white dots when using the PS3. What are your PS3 video settings?

I had the same thing happen when I got my new PS3 slim. No problem on my original PS3 though. In my case it was the HDMI cable.
Not sure what the difference was, but with my older HDMIs(tried 3) I had the dots. Bought a new one and no longer have the problem.
The new on was 1.3 certified and I'm not sure if the older ones were or not.
All of the cables, including the new one that works were from Monoprice. Just my 2 cents.
BTW, do you have the PS3 hooked up through yopur receiver? If so, have you tried hooking it straight to the TV just to see if the problem still occurs?

I agree with dougalast, remove the Onkyo from the chain to eliminate it as a potential problem.

From their, I would either try another HDMI input on the tv or try another PS3. You did run the automatic setup for audio and video correct?

Default White Dots too!

I recently purchased Samsung Blu-ray BD-1590 and hooked it up to my Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver via HDMI cable and am also getting white dots on my Samsung TV (Model LN52A630M). I confirmed there is no issue with HDMI cable as I tried another HDMI cable and had the issue. Additionally, I connected the Blu-ray directly to the TV via each of the two HDMI cables and the picture was perfect.

Based on this, I believe the issue has something to do with the Onkyo Receiver. Please note, a year ago I had a Sony Blu-Ray player hooked up to this same TV and receiver and the picture was perfect so I'm not sure what is going on. I confirmed that the TV is receiving a 1080p signal and I only get these white dots with the Blu-Ray player. My HD Sony Camcorder and my HD TiVO work perfectly through the receiver an on the TV.

My Blu-Ray is hooked into the "DVD" HMDI connection although I tried different HDMI connections on the back of the receiver and still get these white dots so don't think it's the actual HDMI connection but something else.

I don't have a clue as to what could be causing this - any ideas?

for me it was a heat issue...where it would start with white dots and then later on the picture would start blinking...fixed it with an aftermarket fan.

PS. I have an 80gb metalgearsolid edition ps3 from back in the day.
