Hello chaps!
I currently have a Panasonic TH50PX60 which I bought back in 2007. All in all it's been a cracking display, but over the years of owning it I've tended to avoid buying Blu-ray films and I've been sticking to DVDs. Why? Well, one thing that's always been a bug bear with me is the motion stagger caused by 3:2 pulldown. The problem is of course exacerbated with high definition pictures due to the stronger contrast and tighter object edges. Now as you’re well aware, the new Panasonic Plasmas have 600hz sub-field drive which to my mind should remove the stagger effect as the display is able to refresh itself at a multiple of, or exactly at 24fps when required. Am I correct or will the problem still present itself? By the way, I am in the UK where the mains electricity is 50hz as opposed to the US standard of 60hz. Thanks for your help chaps. |
