Sony BDP S550 - Blu-ray Forum

Got a Sony BDP S550 9 weeks ago . about 4 and half weeks in the disk loader failed. so i had to return it to the retailer where they said it has to sent back to the local Sony repair centre.

nearly 5 weeks on the player is still not fixed. called in to the store several times where they rang the centre to be told the same thing Sony still has not replaced the disk loader.

did any one else have their Sony player break and were they this slow in fixing it.

I have a same player for more than one year, and never have this problem. Theoretically, this problem is very easy (and fast) to fix: Sony BDP-S550 is using a SATA internal BD reader, just change an internal drive, unless Sony wants to take the internal drive apart, but that is highly unlikely!
