John Travolta as an action hero??

I just saw a commercial for From Paris With Love during a football game with John Travolta playing the role of an FBI agent who dishes out a can of whoop-ass at every turn. It made me think, what's up with all these old guys lately trying to do action stuff? I admit Bruce Willis pulled it off well in Die Hard 4, but that's an exception. Bruce Willis will work as an action hero well into his 90s I also just saw Denzel Washington in a commercial for The Book Of Eli. He was spinning oh so agonizingly slowly with swords in each hand doing major devastation. A Roman swordsman would have all poor Denzel's limbs lopped off by the time he even saw it coming. Do you think middle-aged actors are pushing the limits of plausibility lately? I admit I will definitely see From Paris With Love, but it's probably for sentimental reasons, after growing up with Vinnie Barbarino on Welcome Back Kotter, I really want to get involved with characters Travolta portrays, like Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction for instance, which was ground-breaking for him, but I hope From Paris With Love doesn't turn into another Battlefield Earth for him...
