I recently got a Sony Viao laptop with Blu-Ray and it came with the WinDVD Software for playing.
It runs fine, but the Audio, even at its Maximum, is almost too low to hear properly (using the shitty laptop speakers). I plug in $20 headphones and the sound is fine. But I'd like to be able to just watch a Blu-Ray without headphones, external speakers..... Everything else from Music, to youtube, to .AVI's play and can be turned up very loud. No problems with anything but Blu-Ray playback. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help! |

1. Is the volume up in the soundcard software or in the control panel?
2. Try a different blu-ray playback software. Sometimes the volume is not turned up as well with the software you're using. Remember, your computer/laptop's volume can be at it's highest and the software you're using volume can be down. I hope this helps. 3. Try to find the latest drivers for your onboard soundcard. Good luck, once again. |

i noticed however that during trailers and when i switch audio languages during the movie that volume is quite loud. i believe the low volume is caused by the inability of the speakers , and in my case the headphones to properly decode/uncompress high bit-rate audio like dolby trueHD. the problem disappears when a lower bitrate audio is used like dolby digital. in your case i think your headphones are of superb quality and are capable of properly decoding the high bitrates, and thus you hear full sound. unfortunately, i think there is no way to play this high bitrate audio any louder using the internal speakers. im not 100% sure though and if anybody has a workaround i would def like to know too |

Thanks for the replies-
All my settings are turned up to the max- (Hardware sound, Software Sound) travelbug, mine is the same way, the Previews and Menu sounds from the BluRay player are perfect and is loud, but it is the actual movie playback that has the problem. |
