Default onkyo 805 or 875??

Hey people just wondering if anyone could help me in deciding what receiver to get the onkyo 805 or the 875? Does the extra features of the 875 warrant the extra coin?

It totally depends on what features you plan on using. If you don't need or want 1080p upscaling then the 805 will most likely be fine. There tons of posts on this topic at avsforum.com

not really...looks like 10 more watts/channel and maybe an extra hdmi input...but if you can afford it, why not.

The 875 includes the Reon-HQV video processing.

If you're planning to connect a lot of SD sources that need upscaling, it might be worth it. Your call $$$.

If you're planning on purchasing a BD player that comes with HQV (samsung, etc..) it may not be worth it.

I plan to buy a 3rd gen. sammy so Im sure one of the three will have HQV, which will probably do a bang up job upconveting all my sd dvds. The $600.00 I will save between the 2 receivers should be close enough to get one of the 3rd gen. sammys. The extra hdmi and 10 watts is not important to me. Thanks guys for your input. Hey Manco your post just made my decision. Thanks a bunch, going to go and get the 805 ASAP. I will be posting a review of this receiver and how it works with my Bryston 4b.
