Default Onkyo 805 or 875?

I am considering upgrading my onkyo 605 to either the 805 or the 875. I am concerned on somethings I have read with the 875 upscaler to 1080p. Is it true you can't adjust the screen ratio between sd. So sd shows are stretched? I hate that I can't watch something distorted from stretching. Also the brightness and other controls are off and require tweaks. If so will it look different when playing games vs. cable or blu rays? Or do you just adjust the settings once and it looks that way on all sources, (don't wanna have to change from every source). I use a logitech remote so once something is right where I want it I put the remote away and use my universal remote.
Overall how good it the the upconversion from a 480i source? My sony kds60a3ooo does a couple little tweaks already ie. noise reduction and drc pallete. Will the 875 put those to shame from cable. Is it worth the extra 600$$ for the 875 vs. the 805? Any input would be great!
