Default Help downloading the GoW 3 demo. Want to make sure I didnt mess up

Ok I got the demo for the game by buying District 9. So after I put in the movie and quit playback I went to the game area and there it was for me to install. Was I suppose to take the disc out or keep it in? because I know it must have to restart the system if I remember, couldnt that hurt the drive keeping in the disc while it restarts?

As far as I know it wont hurt the drive to keep the dis in while you restart it. I got my code through the share thread here so I cant comment specifically on the process for downloading it through District 9.

We're supposed to restart the system?! I didn't do that!
Are we supposed to restart it for everything we install?

PSN games and DL'ed demos don't ask me to restart..

the only restarts I've encountered are from firmware updates and installs

No sir. Mainly just FW upgrades. Downloading games, demos, trailers, ect.. dont require restarting of the PS3.

Joke thread?

If not..

1. If the BD was needed after installation, you would be told.
2. You're never required to manually reset the PS3 unless something hangs/crashes.
3. The only time you should really empty the BD drive is when transporting the PS3.
