Need input on a video I'm writing...

Hey,
As they say... two heads is better than one. Well, how about a few hundred.

I'm taking a class called Writing for Video Games, and I've got to come up with a video game idea to pitch.

Now, what I feel like the first thing I'll need is a unique world. Somewhere we'd all like to go, a place to explore.

I'm thinking it's going to be an RPG. That would best suit what I'm trying to do.

Then of course, there's the story. Who's our main character? What special skills does he or she have?

Etc...

Any help or suggestion would be much appreciated.

Just thought of this...

What if he can fly? Our main character can fly... That would be cool.

Can other people fly?

Is it post-apocalyptic?

Was he experimented on?

Does he kill the mad scientist?

Does he like his ability? Does he hate it?

Will he use it for good or evil?

If he flies in Steampunk, it has to be a rocket propelled backpack. Think of the jetpacks with the handles that folks had from the 50's drawings.

I'm not sure how similar Dark Void is to what you want to do.

But you did say you wanted to make it an RPG, I'd suggest if that's the case, make it like Ratchet and Clank where you can upgrade just about EVERYTHING.
